Springfield Climate

Justice Coalition

ABOUT

Since 2014 the Springfield Climate Justice Coalition has brought together organizations across the City of Springfield to take on the issues of Climate Change and Environmental Justice at the local level, out of a deep concern for the future of our environment and public health.

Our diverse coalition of community, social, civic, and public health organizations, faith based groups, and businesses, aim to bring Springfield to the forefront of urban communities on these issues, and create a city where all of our residents can breath clean air.

The Springfield Climate Justice Coalition has seen major victories in recent years, including the commitment from Columbia Gas of Massachusetts to repair over 500 gas leaks in the city of Springfield, and the commitment of the City of Springfield to implement a Climate Action and Resiliency Plan.

If your organization is interested in joining the Springfield Climate Justice Coalition, contact the Arise office at 413-734-4948.
